I'm Marcus Kramer, the founder and inventor of DoubleUP Roller. I'm an MIT engineer with 25 years of product design experience, and I have been awarded 13 patents, including 5 for DoubleUP Roller. I created DoubleUP to provide a frustration-free method for you to experience the benefits of muscle rolling.
Like many others, I was prescribed traditional foam-roller therapy to help recover from a knee injury. After investing in a collection of rollers of different styles, densities, and textures, I realized that I just couldn't find one that was both effective and convenient to use.
Anyone who has used a foam roller knows that they can be awkward to use. Crawling around on the floor and propping yourself up with your hands and elbows is not a comfortable way to perform therapy, especially when rehabbing from an injury. It's also very difficult to control the rolling pressure when you're at the mercy of gravity.
I understood that muscle rolling had great benefits, but traditional rollers just weren't suitable for many users. So I designed and tested new solutions that could benefit everyone from professional athletes to physical therapy patients. Three years and 21 different prototypes later, I finally had something that generated an enthusiastic response from all of our testers.
DoubleUP Roller was finally launched.
